On Thursday, July 23, 2020, a woman, mother, sister and grandmother named Akua Denteh aged 90 was accused of witchcraft by a fetish priest. As a result, this old person was brutally beaten by a mob to death. This heartbreaking incident happened in Kafaba near Salaga in the Savannah Region of Ghana.

It has been reported that after the fetish priest accused the woman, the angry youth mob went into the home of the 90-year old and took her angrily to the center of the town where they began to beat her as a lot of the natives of the town watched unconcerned.

The perpetrators of this barbaric act are at large as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh dispatched homicide experts from the National Police Headquarters to the Savannah Region to help search for the murderers.

The IGP has announced a two thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc2000) reward for information leading to the arrest of any of the suspects.

Justice is what we all seek for this poor old woman.

May her innocent soul rest in perfect peace!
